Season ticket holders may exchange tickets 24 hours prior to the date printed on the tickets for another performance of the same production.
Individual ticket holders may exchange tickets 48 hours prior to the date printed on the tickets for another performance of the same production. A $4/ticket charge will apply.
There are no refunds.
We are a cashless venue. All transactions are done by card or mobile payment app.
To reserve tickets over the phone, you must pay with a credit card (all major credit cards accepted).
A $4 ticketing fee (per each ticket purchased) will accompany each ticket purchase.
Tickets will be emailed to you at the time of purchase unless you wish to pay the $2/ticket Will Call fee.
Gift certificates are available in any dollar amount. Gift certificates must be redeemed in the season they were purchased.

What are the ticketing policies?

All sales are final. Season, schedule, and artists are subject to change.

Does RMT issue refunds?

No refunds. If tickets are unable to be exchanged, we ask that patrons consider making a tax-deductible donation of their tickets.

What should I do with my tickets if I can’t make a show?

Unused tickets may be donated to the theatre for a tax credit if released prior to date and time on the tickets. Just call the Box Office at 205-324-2424 so we can release the seats for sale.

What is RMT's exchange policy?

All sales are final. Season subscribers may exchange tickets 24 hours prior to the date printed on the tickets for another performance of the same production. Individual ticket holders will be charged $4 per ticket to exchange. This must be done 48 hours prior to the date printed on the tickets.

What is RMT's cancellation policy?

If a performance is cancelled, you may exchange your tickets for another performance of the same production or another production in the same season. If tickets are unable to be exchanged, we ask that patrons consider making a tax-deductible donation of their tickets.

Does RMT sell walk-up tickets?

Tickets may be purchased at the theatre one hour prior to showtime (all fees apply).

Are ticket policies and fees different if I purchase online vs in-person?

Ticket policies and fees apply to all purchases, however the transaction is made.

Planning a visit with children

We love introducing kids to theatre! All children 2-12 are eligible for a reduced ticket price, and must be accompanied by an adult. (Kids 13 and older count as adults.) You are welcome to bring children under the age of 2 without a ticket as long as they sit on your lap. Any children who need their own seat must be ticketed. We have booster seats available -- just ask at the Box Office when you arrive!

Please note, we do want all patrons (young and old) to be courteous to actors and fellow audience members. If you need to comfort a child, there are several quiet areas in the lobby marked by signage. We simulcast the show to the TVs in the lobby, so adults won't miss the show.

If your child has trouble with sitting still for "big" shows, we suggest two options to introduce them to the theatre! Our Young Artist Productions (2-3 times a year) are 1 hour versions of Broadway musicals performed by 8-18 year olds. We also have select shows--usually the family-friendly summer shows-- that have a Sensory-Friendly performance. Click here to learn more about Sensory-Friendly Performances.

What's the parking situation?

Paid parking is located at our Arts Campus parking lot on the right side of 3rd Ave. South, or directly across the street from the campus (left side of 3rd) at the Children's Hospital surface lot. Click here to see maps of the neighborhood or buy parking passes.

If spaces are available, you are permitted to buy parking in the Children's Hospital lot before the show. You will receive a slip to pay at the Box Office.

The parking lots open at 1pm before 2pm matinees and 5:30pm before 7:30pm performances. You must have your parking scanned to enter the lots.

When parking at the Children's Hospital lot, please cross at the zebra crossings on either end of the block for your safety.

Parking attendants leave their posts 30 minutes after curtain time. If you arrive 30 minutes late to the show you may have to find street parking.

Street parking is available in the neighborhood. Please watch for any "No Parking" signs in other lots around the Arts Campus. Building owners will tow unauthorized cars.

What should I wear, and what is good theatre etiquette?

What should I wear?

Most people come in casual clothing. You may want to bring a light sweater or jacket because we try to keep the theatre at a comfortable temperature for our actors.

Can I take photos or videos of the show?

Unfortunately, no. The use of cameras, video recorders, or recording devices of any kind is strictly prohibited. All cell phones must be turned off or placed on silent mode during the performance. For Young Artist Productions and Performing Ensembles Showcases only, the Education Department may make show photography available to parents afterwards.

Do you seat people after the show starts?

Life happens – and we understand, but as they say, “the show must go on.” Our Patron Experience Manager will do their absolute best to seat latecomers as courteously as possible. Thanks, in advance, for your understanding that we may be unable to seat you in your previously purchased seats if you arrive after the show begins.

What about refreshments inside the theatre?

All drinks must be in the approved Red Mountain Theatre lidded cup, which can be purchased from the bars. These cups are reusable, so don't forget to take them with you and bring them back for refills next time! If you purchase snacks from the bar or grab some of the Goldfish (thanks to a generous donation from David Reese), please make sure all packets are opened before the show starts. No other food is allowed in the theatre.

Do you take cash/checks?

We are now a cashless venue, but we take all major credit cards.

What does your logo mean?

That's our "Dancing Man" with his top hat and cane. It's a nod to both the artistry we want to achieve and the mountains that define our city.

What was this building originally?

Parts of the original building date back to 1914 when it was the Wittichen Supply Company. What original construction could be saved or repurposed was incorporated back into the building design.
