AFTER FORTY YEARS, A HOME
For a hundred years, a warehouse quietly sat on a corner in downtown Birmingham -- at first bustling, then eventually abandoned as the neighborhood expanded around it. Through the dedication of devoted arts patrons led by Kathryn Harbert, the historic warehouse has been restored, rebuilt and modernized into the home of Red Mountain Theatre in Birmingham. For the first time in RMT's forty year history, one building holds everything from performance space, to education, to administration.
A HOME FOR TOMORROW’S CREATIVE LEADERS
Countless studies have shown art education improves children’s cognitive development and academic success. It’s not just about teaching them to sing or dance. It’s about teaching them teamwork, time management, focus, discipline, confidence, and so much more. RMT delivers Broadway-caliber performances to Birmingham, but we’re not just playing make-believe.
A PLACE FOR THE COMMUNITY
Theatre has always been a powerful way to connect humans. The stages at the Kathryn Harbert Arts Campus see stories come to life that will move audiences and enrich lives. But all parts of this building are meant to gather us, give us a place to talk, a quiet place to listen, and a place to let ideas grow.
