Business Development Manager

 

Summary of Position:

 

The Business Development Manager is responsible for directing and/or implementing all revenue-producing efforts of RMTC, including the box office, group ticket sales, education residencies/tours, and facility rental. This position entails a proactive sales approach to identify and secure partners whose business benefits RMTC’s revenue as well as mission-oriented goals for a vibrant facility.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Nurture community relationships across various industries to strategically identify and secure “resident” partners and/or rental clients for the facility with a focus on building and sustaining long term clients

Nurture relationships with schools and education-related organizations to strategically identify and secure partnerships for education offerings (i.e. performance tour booking, residencies, group ticket sales, etc.)

Negotiate and create client contracts in accordance with RMTC procedures, adhering to financial best practices and mission alignment. This includes facility rentals, production buyouts, and group ticket sales.

Coordinate with Marketing Department to direct creation of collateral materials for the appropriate positioning of each sales offering

Coordinate with various departments (Patron Experience, Facilities, Production) to facilitate booking of spaces and room set up to meet client specifications

Manage Box Office staff, developing and overseeing ticketing policies and procedures that reinforce RMTC’s high quality brand while also ensuring sound business practices

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Bachelor degree or equivalent sales experience

Strong communication, interpersonal, and sales skills

Proactive self-starter with strategic tenacity

Strong attention to detail and follow up skills

Strong computer skills including CRM software experience preferred

Position requires the ability to accommodate a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as being able to perform in a fast paced, dynamic work environment

Good problem solving and strategic thinking skills.

Ability to prioritize, identify critical issues and work towards results

Ability to work with multiple organizations and vendors proactively and professionally

 

Preferred Qualifications:

3-5 years in a business to business sales environment, preferably in an event setting

Proactive and assertive

Confident, independent thinker who knows how to bring people together to get things done

Good understanding of budgets and proposal pricing process
