Actor/ Seasoned Performers
With an interest in theatre that began as a child with puppetry, Ron has had an active life on stage, in films and videos, and as a performer, (acting and singing), in a myriad of ͞other͟ venues, as his ͞day jobs͟ (i.e.: U.S. Army; Insurance Underwriter; Re-Insurance Underwriter; Commissioned Lay Pastor; Husband; Father; Grandfather, et al) would allow. Having taken drama and radio classes in school in Brooklyn, New York, where he grew up, Ron had at least some basic skills when he auditioned for his first, true, ͞Theatre͟ role at the Theatre of Western Springs in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, where work had taken him. He filled many roles there until work took him to southern Ohio, and later Atlanta, Georgia. Traveling for his ͞day job͟ kept him out of the ͞Theatre͟, (but not out of acting in and/or directing church productions, and performing puppetry, etc.,) until he moved to Trussville thirty years ago. Since then he has performed in many of Birmingham’s downtown Theaters as well as many in the suburbs and surrounding cities where he continues to have fun learning, growing, and stretching, under the guidance and tutelage of the areas wonderful Directors. If you have been to The American Village in Montevallo on the 4th of July over the past several years you may have seen him as Benjamin Franklin, an alter ego he thoroughly enjoys.
