Emily Herring, a Mobile native, is honored to return to RMTC after performing in The Look of Love in 2005.
Emily Herring (Mrs. Potts), is bubbling with excitement to return to RMTC, after playing Mrs. Banks in Mary Poppins. She has played leading roles on the national tours of Ragtime (Mother), Kiss Me, Kate (Kate), and The Sound of Music (Mother Abbess – “Best Actress” nomination by Nat’l Broadway Theatre Awards, 2001). Regional credits include: Central Alabama Theatre (The Bikinis), Paper Mill Playhouse (Ragtime), California Music Theatre (A Little Night Music), Virginia Samford Theatre (Always…Patsy Cline), Totem Pole Playhouse/Arrow Rock (Smoke on the Mountain), and Alabama Shakespeare Festival (Honky Tonk Angels). She is active as a concert, cabaret, and jazz vocalist throughout the Southeast, singing everything from Puccini to Patsy Cline. Emily holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Music-Vocal Performance, and is a member of AEA, MTEA, and NATS. She has served as a Voice Instructor at The University of Alabama, Birmingham Southern, Rosie’s Broadway Kids and AMDA (NYC), and is currently an Adjunct Voice Professor at UAB and Montevallo.
